Short, because this site does not do much: it publishes essays, sends them to people who ask, and lets you get in touch. Here is what that means for you.

The writing on this site

The essays, photographs and other material here are mine, and copyright stays with me. That is the default; everything below is what I am happy for you to do without asking.

Quote freely. A passage with my name and a link back needs no permission — that is what writing in public is for.

Ask before republishing a piece in full, translating it, or using it in something you sell — a paid course, a newsletter that is not mine. Sharing it inside your own team or a study group needs no permission. I have said yes to most requests; enquiries reach me by email.

Machine reading — search engines, answer engines, and AI crawlers — is governed by robots.txt, not by this page. It is currently open to them, deliberately. If that ever changes, it will change there first, and this sentence will still be accurate.

What this writing is, and is not

These essays are an account of my own experience and how I have come to think about work, transition and identity. They are not professional advice — not medical, psychological, legal or financial — and they are not addressed to your situation, which I do not know.

Coaching and consulting outcomes depend on the person and the context. Nothing here promises a particular result, and past work described on this site is a record of what happened, not a forecast of what will.

Links to other sites are there because I found them worth reading. I do not control what they publish afterwards.

Enquiries and engagements

Nothing is sold or paid for on this site. The forms send me a message; they do not create an engagement, reserve a slot, or take money.

Scope, schedule, fees, and cancellation terms are settled in a written agreement for each engagement. That is why this page has no refund policy — the agreement you sign is the one that governs, and it will say so plainly.

Essay notifications are free and you can stop them from the link at the bottom of any of them. How your details are handled is set out in the privacy notice.

Governing law, and changes

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea. Any dispute goes to the court with jurisdiction under the applicable law.

If I change this page I will change the date at the top. There is no version history to consult; what is here is what applies.
